APS Virtual Learning Plan-2025 (APS Digital Days)
Tech-tivities Website (Inclement Weather)
The Tech-Tivities website (a combination of Technology and Activities) provides optional enrichment activities for students to engage with in a self paced manner. Activities are organized by grade band and content area. All of the resources are available in myBackpack for students.
Google Classroom (Extended Breaks)
For breaks that we know are approaching (Fall Break, Winter, Break, Spring Break, Summer, etc), teachers will be encouraged to direct their students to Google Classroom to engage with optional enrichment activities. Teachers are able to upload links, videos, digital formative assessments, and other multimedia activities for students to engage with while away from school. Educational Technology Specialists will provide support to teachers with various digital resources and multimedia learning opportunities to engage students.
Inclement Weather/Extended Breaks Communication Plan for APS (#APSDigitalDays)
Purpose: This plan outlines the procedures for communicating school closures, delays, and other important information to students, parents, staff, and the community in the event of inclement weather or an extended school break.
Goals:
● Ensure all stakeholders are informed of the transition to virtual learning.
● Provide clear instructions on how to use Google Classroom for learning and teaching and how to access the APS Techtivities Website.
● Create a supportive environment with resources for parents, students, and teachers.
● Provide continuous learning and academic support for students
● Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information Communication Channels Primary Communication Channels
● District Website: Dedicated virtual learning page with updates, instructional videos, and links to resources.
● School Website: The school website will be updated with the latest information regarding school closures, delays, and other important announcements.(This can be pushed from the Central Office to School Webpages)
● District Notification System (Infinite Campus): The district's automated notification system will be used to send phone calls, text messages, and emails to parents, staff, and community members.
● Local Media: Local television and radio stations will be notified of school closures and delays as well as with the social media hashtag and link to the APS Website.
● Social Media: The school district's official social media accounts will be used to share updates and information using. From: @apsupdate using the hashtag #APS Digital Days - Local Schools should use Social Media to communicate plans.
Secondary Communication Channels
● School Messenger Apps (Remind): If applicable, school-specific messenger apps may be used to communicate with parents and students.
