What is Title I?

Peyton Forest Elementary School is identified as a Title I school as part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Title I is designed to support State and local school reform efforts tied to challenging state academic standards to improve teaching and learning for students. All Title I schools must jointly develop with all parents a written parent family engagement plan. Title I programs must be based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support family engagement.

School-Parent Compact

The School-Parent Compact (SPC) is a written agreement between the school community and parents. The SPC provides an opportunity to create new partnerships between the school, teachers and families. It explains what families and schools can do to help children reach high academic standards of excellence. This written agreement indicates how all stakeholders of our school community agree to share in the effort to raise student academic achievement.

Parent and Family Engagement

Peyton Forest Elementary School believes that parent involvement means the participation of parents in regular two-way, communication involving student academic learning and other school activities, including ensuring that:

  • Parents play a role in assisting in their child’s learning;
  • Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education at school and home; and
  • Parents are full partners in their child’s education and are included in decision- making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child

Peyton Forest Elementary School is committed to helping our parents attend the parental activities listed in this plan. Please call or email us if you need assistance with childcare or transportation in order to participate in our programs.

We do not have a Parent Center at this time but welcome you to reach out to us for any needs you may have. We are ready and willing to assist in any way possible!

School Parent and Family Engagement for Shared Student Success

What is it?

This is a plan that describes how Peyton Forest Elementary will provide opportunities to improve family engagement to support student learning. Peyton Forest Elementary values the contributions and engagement of parents and family members to establish an equal partnership for the common goal of improving student achievement. This plan describes the different ways that Peyton Forest Elementary will support family engagement and how parents can help participate in activities and events to promote student learning at school and at home.

How is it developed?

Peyton Forest Elementary School invited all parents and families to provide input and comments regarding this plan throughout the school year. We will accept feedback input through a front office, during parent/family events, and via email. You will also find our plan is posted on our school website for parents to view and submit feedback throughout the year. Your feedback is important and will be used as we revise the plan for the next year. All parent feedback received during the year will be used to revise the plan for the next school year.

Who is it for?

All students participating in the Title I, Part A program, and their families are encouraged and invited to fully participate in the opportunities described in this plan. Peyton Forest Elementary will provide full opportunity for the participation of parents and family members with limited English, with disabilities, and of migratory children.

Where is it available?

At the beginning of the year, the plan is included in the Wednesday folder that is given to all students and families.
