WHAT IS A SCHOOL-PARENT COMPACT?
Our annual school-parent compact is a written commitment describing how all members of a school community—parents, teachers, principals, and students—agree to share responsibility for student learning. This compact helps bridge the learning connection between school and home.
JOINTLY DEVELOPED
This compact is uniquely developed to meet the needs and goals of our students. Parents, students, teachers, and faculty members work together to develop our school-parent compact. Each school year, two meetings are held for parents, teachers, and students to compare the compact with school data to review our progress and assess our goals.
SCHOOL AND HOME COMMUNICATION
Peyton Forest Elementary is committed to providing regular two-way communication with families about student learning. Some of the ways families can expect us to reach out are:

PARENT OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES
There are many opportunities for parents to learn about and engage with Peyton Forest Elementary. Please contact our school to learn about these great opportunities and more.
● School Events: Open House, Fall and Spring Title I Meetings, Curriculum Night, etc.
● Parent Volunteers: Parents are welcome to volunteer and to assist with special identified events after engaging in our volunteer training
● Parent Teacher Student Conferences: Parents may schedule conferences by emailing the teacher or calling the school.

School Academic Goals
Peyton Forest Elementary administrators along with the Leadership and Instructional Support Teams have studied our performance data to decide the most important areas of improvement for our school. Our goals for this year include:
1. Reading: Increase ELA proficiency on MAP and GMAS by 5%.
2. Math: Increase Math proficiency on MAP and GMAS by 5%
3. Attendance: Increase the attendance rate to 72%.
TEACHERS & STAFF
On Peyton Forest Elementary School’s campus and in classrooms, Teachers and Staff will:
● Provide engaging lessons daily working with students on critical thinking skills and activities in all subject areas
● Provide parents with important school information weekly by sending home Wednesday folders
● Provide parents with frequent reports on their child’s progress through progress reports and report cards
● Provide opportunities and an expectation for all students to engage with books and texts across all genres and at multiple times throughout the day
SCHOLARS
At home and at school, Peyton Forest Elementary School students will:
● Come to school ready to learn.
● Speak in complete sentences.
● Keep our school nice and clean.
● Speak and act with kindness.
● Show gratitude by saying please and thank you.
● Make good decisions.
● Remain safe, organized, respectful, and responsible.
● Read with a family member or guardian daily for at least 20 minutes.
● Check out and return books to the school library.
● Complete weekly homework assignments.
FAMILIES
At home and in the community, Peyton Forest Elementary School parents will:
● Check my child’s Wednesday Folder each week and respond to and/or sign communications.
● Develop a relationship with my child’s teacher by attending a conference at least twice/year.
● Register and utilize Infinite Campus Parent Portal to monitor my child’s progress.
● Ensure my child reads at home daily for at least 20-30 minutes with a family member or guardian.
● Check that my child is completing weekly homework assignments.
