Greetings, Peyton Forest Family!

My name is Ericka Fluellen, and I am truly honored to serve as the Principal of Peyton Forest Elementary School during this special Legacy Year. As someone who has proudly called Peyton Forest home for more than 15 years, it is a privilege to lead the school community that has meant so much to me throughout my career.

I am a proud Georgia Peach, born and raised in Perry, Georgia, and I come from a family of educators who instilled in me a deep passion for learning, service, and leadership. For more than 16 years, I have served Atlanta Public Schools in a variety of roles, including Teacher, Student Support Specialist, Gifted Specialist, Instructional Coach, SST Chairperson, Professional Learning Liaison, Master Teacher Leader, Communication Ambassador, Assistant Principal, and now Principal. Each of these experiences has strengthened my belief that strong relationships, high expectations, and a commitment to every child are the foundation of exceptional schools.

Peyton Forest holds a special place in my heart. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the resilience, excellence, and unwavering spirit of our students, families, staff, and community. As we embrace our theme, "The Legacy Continues," I am committed to honoring the rich traditions that define Peyton Forest while creating new opportunities for growth, achievement, and innovation.

My goal is to ensure that every scholar feels valued, challenged, supported, and inspired each day. I believe that when schools and families work together, students thrive. Through meaningful partnerships, a strong focus on academic excellence, and a commitment to the whole child, we will continue building a school culture where every student can reach their full potential.

I am excited about the journey ahead and grateful for the opportunity to serve this incredible community. Together, we will celebrate our successes, strengthen our traditions, and continue the proud legacy of Peyton Forest Elementary School for generations to come.

Greetings Peyton Forest Families!

My name is Micaela Copeland, and I am honored to serve as the Interim Assistant Principal of Peyton Forest Elementary School. As a proud Atlanta native, I am grateful for the opportunity to support the students, families, and educators of Atlanta Public Schools. After serving the Peyton Forest community for nine years, I am excited to continue my leadership journey in this new role.

I have served Peyton Forest in various capacities, each of which has strengthened my commitment to our school community. As Assistant Principal, I strive to lead with integrity, empathy, high expectations, and a student-centered focus. I believe strong schools grow through meaningful relationships, shared responsibility, and continuous improvement. My goal is to help maintain a safe, supportive, and academically challenging environment where every student develops the confidence and skills needed to succeed.

As both an educator and the parent of an Atlanta Public Schools student, I understand the trust families place in their schools each day. This dual perspective strengthens my commitment to advocating for students, supporting families, and ensuring every child receives meaningful opportunities to learn and grow.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and both my master’s and education specialist degrees from Mercer University. I hold certifications and endorsements in Middle Grades Mathematics and English Language Arts, Special Education, Gifted Education, Dyslexia, Coaching, and Reading Instruction.

I look forward to partnering with our students, staff, families, and community as we build a lasting legacy of excellence at Peyton Forest Elementary School.

My name is Kassia Walker, and I am excited to continue my role as School Business Manager for the 2025-2026 school year. I moved to Atlanta from Kansas City, Missouri, to attend Spelman College, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development.  Since that time, I earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University and an Education Specialist degree in Teaching and Learning from Argosy University.

Peyton Forest has been a huge part of my journey in education as I have been at the school since 2005, serving in the capacity of both teacher and instructional coach. I am honored to continue to serve our school community by overseeing logistics and operations as the School Business Manager. It is my pleasure to work with the Peyton Forest staff, students, and the community as we Expect Excellence Everyday.
