With a passion for fostering academic excellence and creating a nurturing learning environment, I am elated to serve the students, faculty, staff, parents and community of Peyton Forest Elementary School in Atlanta Public Schools.

I am a native of Mobile, AL. With over 30 years of experience in the field of education, I bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership to Peyton Forest. I received a bachelor's from Tuskegee University in elementary education, a masters in elementary education and educational leadership from the University of South Alabama and a doctorate from Nova Southeastern University in Organizational Leadership.

Throughout my career, I’ve maintained a strong commitment to student achievement. I believe in providing a well-rounded education that not only focuses on academics but also emphasizes character development, social-emotional learning, and fostering a love for lifelong learning. I will work closely with teachers and staff to create a positive school culture where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to reach their full potential.

As an instructional leader, I am dedicated to promoting innovative teaching methods and staying updated with the latest educational research and trends. I aim to collaborate with teachers to develop effective instructional strategies, integrate technology into the curriculum, and implement data-driven practices to meet the diverse needs of students.

Driven by a deep sense of purpose and a genuine love for education, I am excited to lead Peyton Forest towards continued excellence.

Greetings!

I am honored to serve our community for the fourth year as the Assistant Principal at Peyton Forest Elementary. As a proud Georgia Peach, born and raised in Perry, Georgia, I come from a strong legacy of educators who instilled in me a deep passion for learning and leadership.

Throughout my career, I have served in various roles—including classroom educator, Instructional Coach, SST Chairperson, Gifted Lead Specialist, Professional Learning Liaison, Master Teacher Leader, and Communication Ambassador—all of which have shaped my approach to fostering student success and building strong school communities.

I am deeply committed to educational excellence, equity, and innovation, ensuring that every student at Peyton Forest Elementary receives the support, engagement, and encouragement needed to thrive. It is my privilege to lead alongside our talented staff, students, and families as we continue our mission to be Intentional, Innovative, and Inclusive in all that we do!

I look forward to partnering with our school community and creating a learning environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Ericka Fluellen Assistant Principal

My name is Kassia Walker, and I am excited to continue my role as School Business Manager for the 2025-2026 school year. I moved to Atlanta from Kansas City, Missouri, to attend Spelman College, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development.  Since that time, I earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University and an Education Specialist degree in Teaching and Learning from Argosy University.

Peyton Forest has been a huge part of my journey in education as I have been at the school since 2005, serving in the capacity of both teacher and instructional coach. I am honored to continue to serve our school community by overseeing logistics and operations as the School Business Manager. It is my pleasure to work with the Peyton Forest staff, students, and the community as we Expect Excellence Everyday.
